minimum spend vs hire fee

There is no hire fee for hosting a party here, but instead we set a minimum amount we require to be spent on drinks. We provide a fully stocked bar, cocktail bar staff as well as door staff. The minimum bar spends vary throughout the week, but here is a rough guide:

Friday & Saturday nights from £1,500 minimum spend
Sunday to Thursday nights from £700 minimum spend

For events where a minimum spend is not suitable, a hire fee can be negotiated. This could be a for a daytime event, a film shoot or photo shoot, or for a bespoke event.

music

We have a PA system that guests are welcome to use (with care!) If you’re just playing a playlist, you can plug your own device into our mixer. We have a mini jack to plug in a device but if it’s an iPhone then please bring an adapter. If you’re brining CDJs, vinyl decks or a DJ controller, you can plug it directly into our mixer. Our mixer needs to be used as it’s connected to a sound limiter.

Speakers: 2 x 800 watt self amped Alto Professional TS112A Truesonic speakers

We can also recommend DJs who bring their own equipment with rates starting from £200 for a 4 hour set. Any damage to the equipment would be taken out of your deposit.

food

We are happy for you to bring in outside caterers. We have a small food prep area rather than a kitchen. Many parties just like to dial in pizza from Yard Sale or Well Street Pizza!

timings

Most events start between 7-8pm. Events can start earlier for an additional £200 added to the minimum spend per hour. Staff arrive an hour before guests to set up, so the hosts are welcome to arrive ahead of guests also. 1am is the latest we can close.

Deposit

The deposit is £200. This is a holding deposit to secure the date for your event, and also acts as protection against damage to our music equipment, acts of vandalism by any of your guests, and can cover (or go towards) any loss due to a deficit in the minimum bar spend. 

Once the deposit is received, the event date is confirmed. If you cancel the event within two calendar months of the event, we have the right to retain the deposit in full. 

We have the right to retain the deposit if the event is cancelled, unless the reason for cancelling is due to Government guidance in relation to Covid. If the Government prevent the event from taking place, the customer has the right to request a full refund or reschedule the date. 

If the minimum spend is not reached the customer must pay the outstanding amount in full. This can be taken from the deposit. If the amount outstanding is greater than the sum of the deposit then the remaining deficit must be paid before leaving the venue.

General wear and tear is expected during events, including accidental spillages and glass breakages etc, but if there are any deliberate acts of vandalism or breakage of the musical equipment then we will take payment from the deposit (e.g. damage caused by spillages on the decks or mixer must be taken from the deposit)...Receipts for replacement items or work can be provided upon request. 

The deposit will be refunded on the next working day (Mon-Fri) following the event, minus any forfeits as mentioned above, if applicable. 

dry hire

‘Dry Hire’ is an alternative arrangement to ‘minimum spend’, when the host wants to sell or bring their own drinks. It’s usually a ‘supper club’ type scenario. We don't have a fully functioning kitchen - just worktop, fridges, freezer and sink. There’s no extraction or cooker/grill.. We would remove all of our drinks from the bar. Glassware can be used upon request. 

The below fees include one member of staff who would be the key holder/venue supervisor/bar staff/personal license holder.

The fee also includes a security guard for a 5 hour shift (additional hours charged at £25 p/h)

*Weekend daytime dry hires for this rate would need to end by 5pm approx. 

Alternatively, we can provide staff to serve drinks from our fully stocked bar. This would be for a minimum bar spend (prices listed at the top of this page), and would cancel out the hire fee. This is our usual scenario.
