Akari Mochizuki, dubbed the only professional enka singer in the UK, will be singing her Japanese torch / pop songs, live to backing tracks. The performance will be filmed for broadcast on TV Tokyo. 

Akari has delighted crowds many times at Japan Blues nights at Café OTO, Machine No.3 and regular performances at Japanese cultural events in the UK (Hyper Japan, Japan Matsuri), and across Europe. 

Hosting and DJing on the night will be Howard Williams. As Japan Blues, Williams has been running his cult radio show on NTS Radio for over three years & is responsible for several compilations of Japanese music, the latest being Lovin’ Mighty Fire - a selection of 70s & 80s soul funk and disco. He released his solo LP “Sells His Record Collection” earlier this year (launched at Machine No.3) and appears on the Boiler RoomCollections.
